CC Cream SPF 30 and BB Cream SPF 30 by Clinique

Clinique always goes an extra step when developing a product. So that were not the first to come out with BB and CC creams but have become one of the best on the market.

Lets go back to what is a BB and CC cream and what are they used for in Makeup??

BB cream is short for ‘blemish balm’ cream. It’s a versatile combination of products such as moisturizer, primer, SPF, foundation, skin treatment, and concealer. It was originally developed in Germany as an all-in-1 cream to be used by patient’s post-laser treatment for protection, coverage and hydration

CC Creams are also known as “color corrective” or “color control,” they are lighter than BB cream or foundation. … CC creams give you a treatment-oriented makeup that both protects and restores, along with smoothing out skin tone with sheer coverage.

The difference between BB and CC creams is subtle–CC generally stands for “color correcting” and the products are meant to address issues like redness or sallowness (usually with light-diffusing particles), whereas BB creams are like lighter foundation with a few skin care benefits thrown in.

So now that we know what they do, what makes Clinique’s so good??

First the BB Cream was created to cover imperfections, Clinique added SPF 30 to help with protection and it also is oil free. Its part of a morning routine to give your skin a great start. It also offers antioxidant protection and can be used as the perfect primer especially for oily skin it helps makeup last all day!

It comes in four shades from very fair, moderately fair, medium and dark to fit all skin tones.

Its package in a 1.4oz green tube for $39

Next, they created the CC cream which is the “Colour Corrector” introducing it as part of the moisture surge line since it is CC Cream Hydrating Colour Correcting Balm with SPF 30.

This product in one step gives glowing skin plus the colour correction and moisturizes skin. Plus, the added bonus of protection with the SPF 30.

This is my favorite product. It gives great skin coverage and a nice glow which helps with older skin. Since I am over 50 it enhances my makeup whether I choose to use it alone or under foundation.

My first time using was four years ago as a makeup artist for Clinique. We were each giving a full size in our color to try. Of course, I applied it with a brush like a do all my foundation, WRONG!!. With the texture of this product it is best applied with your fingers so it blends into skin better, a makeup sponge is also good just requires a little more blending.

CC Cream is fabulous for all skin types but works especially nice on older skin, do to the hydration of the moisture surge it covers lines well and blends into skin to give a nice glow. Glowing skin is fabulous for us over 50 we need that young dewy hydrated look.

I wear this all summer by itself as a light coverage and in the winter under foundation for staying power.

CC cream comes in a pikc tube of 1.4oz for $39. There are 5 shades from very light, light, light medium, medium, medium deep.
